tomato salads, easy, sweet, kid-friendly

It's tomato time. Cut up tomatoes, a drizzle of sweet balsamic and maybe some olive oil. You can add basil, salt and pepper, fresh mozzarella...
M has always liked this. Introduce it early. It's a great lunch item in a little tupperware with a fork...
reminder, I am out of town...

  1. Mmmm, I need to make some gazpacho! My daughter prefers to eat grape tomatoes whole, nothing on them. Otherwise the only tomato product she likes is the inevitable ketchup.

We were eating at a local French bistro and asked for ketchup for her pomme frites. The waiter reacted with mild disgust and told us that his 4 year old has never eaten ketchup. Seriously? Wait until she's in school, then talk to me about your evolved eater child. :-)

  2. This cracks me up. Having just been in France, ketchup I think is caught up in the anti-American stuff. I think it's funny that they think it's
"too sweet" as I heard said, but then the kids slather Nutella on sweet Brioche and drink a bowl of chocolate milk with it for breakfast... Just saying...
